'Nuggetville,' a new marijuana growing facility, makes business plans in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – The owner of a pot-friendly RV park in Medford plans to create a new commercial facility in Eugene.

The business “Grow Condos” plans to open a 48,000 square foot marijuana processing facility in west Eugene after Jackson County rejected their plans for the facility.

Grow Condos is known for supplying warehouse space for marijuana growers.

“Recreational marijuana growers, processors, extractors,” Wayne Zallen, “Grow Condos” CEO described.

He said the new facility will span nearly three acres of property off of First Avenue in west Eugene. The facility will be made up of four buildings.

Owners say they purchased the property in 2016 and have been working with the City of Eugene since then.

“They were all for it and thought it was a great idea and wanted to see it happen,” Zallen said.

The City of Eugene said they consulted with Grow Condos on permits for the new project, named Nuggetville, in June of 2016.

“That's just an opportunity we offer anybody who's interested in building in the city, to come in, get their questions answered and learn more about the building permit process here in Eugene,” said Laura Hammond from Eugene City Communications.

Now, blue prints detail plans for the new buildings. They will hold two dozen units designed to grow marijuana. The new facility is not an RV park. It is just a warehouse designed for growers.

“We have to get permits for obviously the whole project, so it's quite extensive,” Zallen said.

He said they submitted their permits to the city in December.

The land Nuggetville plans to develop used to be a dump before it was converted to a commercial space.

They purchased it for $358,000.

The owner of Grow Condos said they hope to expand their business to other states where marijuana is legalized.
